Structural renovation of a live plant on the 'replacement in kind' principle.

This project involves the comprehensive renovation of Structure F (Cold Box) within a Naphtha Steam Cracking Plant. The work includes a detailed assessment and replacement of structural components in line with modern engineering standards. The project adheres to the ASCE 'replacement in kind' approach, ensuring that all upgrades maintain the operational integrity of the plant while meeting safety and performance requirements. The process includes understanding the existing design, reviewing historical documentation, and adapting to current design codes.

Our scope of work encompasses multiple critical stages, such as designing a new upper structure, conducting material surveys to evaluate the properties of the existing lower structure and foundation, and retrofitting the lower structure for enhanced stability. Additional responsibilities include designing temporary supports for the lower structure during the renovation phase, performing transportation analyses for the upper structure, and developing a modular design with detailed erection analysis. These contributions ensured the seamless integration of new components while preserving the reliability of the existing system.
