Temporary supports and a bespoke pulling head for 36-inch crude oil pipes.
TÜPRAŞ Crude Oil Pipe Temporary Structures and Pulling Head
As part of the Pipe Renovation Project at TUPRAS Izmit Refinery, two distinct structures were required for engineering services. The first was the temporary support and foundations for the 36" crude oil pipes. The design calculations and shop drawings have been prepared by MBY.
These pipes continue at sea level in Gulf of İzmit. For this part of the renovation, a second structure called "pulling head" was required. This structure also had to be compatible with the pipes to be connected. Thus, a unique design was achieved considering the form of the 36" crude oil pipes and the curvature into the sea. The design calculations and shop drawings for this "pulling head" have been prepared by MBY.
