Galataport Landscape Structures
Provided structural engineering services for several small landscape structures within the Galataport development, including the Corner Pantry, storage buildings, Pool Bar, Temporary Pavilion, WC units and security cubes. The scope included the analysis and design of the structural systems, connections and support arrangements required for these lightweight architectural elements.
The primary engineering challenge was supporting the new structures on the existing buildings and slabs. Detailed assessments were carried out to evaluate the available support conditions, transfer loads safely into the existing structure and minimise local strengthening requirements, while maintaining architectural intent, constructability and coordination with existing site constraints.
