What we do

Five services, from rapid desk-based screening through to full wind tunnel testing — whichever gives the most reliable answer at your stage of design.

Wind microclimate

Comfort and safety assessments for people and places — pedestrian wind conditions around buildings, plazas, terraces and public spaces, benchmarked against recognized comfort criteria.

Wind loads

Accurate wind load calculations for safe and efficient design, covering cladding pressures, overall structural loading and local peak effects.

CFD analysis

Advanced simulations for complex geometries, run on our own HPC infrastructure with validated in-house tools and automated workflows.

Wind tunnel testing

High-quality experimental data produced in our collaborated wind tunnels, in accordance with international standards.

Desk-based assessment

Rapid wind review based on local wind climate data, published guidance and experience from comparable sites — ideal for early design stages and screening.

Our approach

Engineering confidence from concept to completion.

01

Wind tunnel testing

Wind tunnel testing is performed in the 10×5 Wind Tunnel, a state-of-the-art facility capable of accurately simulating the atmospheric boundary layer, including wind shear and turbulence. This enables reliable assessment of wind loads, pedestrian wind comfort and safety, pollutant dispersion and environmental wind conditions. Equipped with advanced instrumentation — including PIV, multi-axis traversing systems, force balances and high-precision pressure measurement — the facility delivers accurate, repeatable and internationally recognized results.

02

CFD simulation

Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations use validated methodologies to predict pedestrian wind comfort and other complex aerodynamic effects. Our engineering-led approach provides reliable insights for informed design decisions and optimisation.

03

High-Performance Computing

Our engineering platform combines in-house automation with scalable cloud-based High-Performance Computing (HPC), enabling large-scale simulations to be completed rapidly when project deadlines are critical.

Flexible analysis methods

We apply the most appropriate engineering approach for each project — from wind tunnel testing to advanced CFD simulations and desk-based assessments — depending on the project objectives, design stage and required level of accuracy.

Faster project delivery

Custom-developed engineering software, automated workflows and scalable computing resources significantly reduce turnaround times while maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Challenging projects, proven solutions

From supertall towers and stadiums to airports, bridges and complex mixed-use developments, we provide reliable engineering solutions for projects with demanding geometries and wind conditions.

Selected projects

Wind Comfort and Safety

Wind Comfort and Safety

London, United Kingdom *

This project assessed pedestrian wind comfort and safety around Archway Tower using wind tunnel testing. The assessment found that the proposed façade and entrance improvements enhance wind conditions in key public areas.

Pedestrian Wind Comfort

Pedestrian Wind Comfort

Manhattan, New York

Pedestrian wind assessment on Mixed-Use Hudson Yards Project modelled with surrounding structures. Study based on CFD simulations.

Cladding Wind Load Assessment

Cladding Wind Load Assessment

Manchester, United Kingdom *

A boundary layer wind tunnel study was undertaken to determine design wind loads on the façades, roof, balconies and fins of Media City Heart Two. The impact of the adjacent proposed building was evaluated to ensure safe and efficient façade design.

Desk-Based Assessment

Desk-Based Assessment

Hounslow, London, United Kingdom *

Desk-based pedestrian wind microclimate assessment for a major mixed-use development featuring a tall tower.

* Selected projects delivered by our experts in previous roles.

Let us talk wind.

We have taken part in iconic projects all around the globe, spanning five continents. Whatever stage your project is at, let us choose the right method together.
